12. Evaluation

Sooooo... We, group orange, were the first one to present. Yikes! Boy, didn’t that add the pressure on us? It has been a while- a looooong while- since I presented something, so I was quite nervous in the beginning. Hopefully, I managed to overcome my nervousness as I carried on with my speech. Other than that, I enjoyed presenting. I just like to speak about literature and inform people, so this experience was really worth while for me. All of the group members tried their best. With our schedules clashing and the surprise holiday, it was difficult for us to prepare for this, but we worked really hard. I hope that everyone appreciated our effort and liked what we did.

On a further note, I think our presentation was really good; however, I would like to make the final one even better! I want to speak more and interact with the audience :) If anyone wants to give advice on how to improve our presentation skills, please do so. I’d personally benefit from it, so please don’t hesitate :)

  1. Although the ENG 101 presentation is not really an 'interactive' one (you will do that in ENG 102), on Friday I watched one of our teachers do a short presentation with a bit of interaction. He left some gapped sentences on his slides and asked the audience to complete them. This was a really effective focussing technique, and I think I will also use it when I do my conference presentation next semester!

  2. Some further thoughts...I watched another group today who wanted to interact with the audience...I certainly will not ban this from 101 presentations if you want to do it! And you will be even better-prepared for next semester...

  3. Thank you Sonja for your input! Honestly, I really liked the way the teacher asked the audience to do a bit of work. It is quite clever, actually :):)
As for our group, depending on our slides, we'll decide on how to run our presentation, but thank you in advance for giving us that freedom. I feel more relaxed now :)
